Brainspotting

Elizabeth Piren is certified as a Brainspotting Practitioner.  Brainspotting was founded by David Grand, PHD in 2003.  It is a treatment that identifies, processes, and releases neurophysiological sources of trauma.  Grand explains that, “Brainspotting taps into the body’s natural self- scanning and self-healing abilities”.  Brainspotting is assisted by the attunement of the client to the therapist and described as a brain/body based therapeutic approach.

Elizabeth will explain more in depth what Brainspotting is during a session.  This modality is incorporated into therapy meetings by following our gaze and trusting that where you look affects how you feel.  BSP can help to alleviate trauma, depression, OCD, and anxiety.   It allows for a difficult incident or traumatic memory to be resolved in a contained manner, bringing relief to the nervous system.  Brainspotting is unique in that it can also enhance our creativity, peak performance and also help with physical ailments and addiction.  It removes blocks that are in our way of feeling and being our best selves.
